NEW YORK. NY Leading interior construction: firm Aragon Construction
acted as its own client, as the
company transformed the entire
ninth floor at Metropolitan Tower,
142 West 57th St., for its new corporate
offices. Located between
Sixth and Seventh Avenues, in the
heart of Midtown, the company had
outgrown its office at 49 West 27th
St. and moved into more than double
the space, having leased 12,213 s/f.
The company completed the move
on July 2.
Working together with senior
partner Michel Fiechter, studio
director Stephen Yavrouian and project
designer Momoko Sakae of TPG,
Aragon's new office is a showcase
for potential clients to come and see
some of the high quality work that is
the firm's hallmark. A tour through
the office demonstrates different
options accommodating a range
of budgets. Flooring types vary,
including concrete, wood, carpet and
stone; walls and doors of different
materials, and styles such as wood,
glass, composite walls, with a wide
array of finishes are located throughout
the space. The open landscape
furnishings in the new office space
are from Knoll represented by Greg
Burke's Lane Office.
The 78-story, black glass Metropolitan
Tower was built in 1986
and is owned and managed by L&L
Acquisitions.
Aragon Construction, represented
By Joe Fabrizi of Cushman &Wakefield,
signed a six-year lease for its
new office space after a search of
more than a year.
When Aragon was started in
2000, it had only three employees,
but each year the company steadily
grew to cover an increasingly broad
workload and now boasts 50
employees. Founder and president Alex
Getelman said, "Aragon's growth is
a compliment to everyone's contribution
to the company, and now our
innovative office space is a place
to show our clients the depth and
breadth of our expertise."
