NEW YORK, NY–ARAGON CONSTRUCTION recently completed construction on a new salon for celebrity colorist brad johns at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa.

The new brad Johns studio is located at the spa industry leader's Fifth Avenue flagship location, 691 Fifth Avenue at 54th Street. In addition to serving as johns' working studio, the 700 slf space will also be home to Red Door Spas' Style and Color Education Programs for up-and-coming stylists.

Aragon Construction, working in conjunction with TPG Architecture, LLP, created the new brad johns studio, located on 691 Fifth's seventh floor.

The space has an all-glass guest entry way and a greeting center, which features banquet seating and white, gloss lacquer millwork set against dramatically dark Amtico flooring.

"The white and black design contrast theme is echoed throughout the entire salon, creating a harmonious and relaxing ambience," said architect Ben Bayoneto of TPG. The salon its self features four wash stations, ten styling areas (which are divided by glass block partitions) and flooring made of recycled black Pirelli rubber tires, imported from Italy.

On the same floor, Aragon also built out a gift certificate area, open plan office area, and installed new client bathrooms and HVAC system. Aragon has rolled out several successful locations for Red Door Spas in the past, including a detailed prototype spa in Darien, Connecticut and a 7,500 slf Red Door Spa in Woodbury, Long Island. Aragon also performed a major renovation to the company's Fifth Avenue flagship location.

Their long history with Elizabeth Arden and intricate knowledge of the client's needs enabled Aragon to finish the brad johns studio on time and on budget.

However, constructing the new salon while Red Door remained open for business during their busiest season (Christmas) required extensive coordination and tight quality control.
